Caitlin holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Catholic University of America. Following graduation, Caitlin spent a year volunteering as an AmeriCorps City Year Corps Member in Philadelphia, where she tutored middle school students in math and reading and provided after school programs. During this time she realized her passion for STEM education.
Caitlin has since earned a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a principal certification. She started by teaching Philadelphia high school students mathematics and physics. She always fought to provide her students with the best possible education by attending professional development sessions after school to perfect her practice and applying for grants for laboratory and other materials for the classroom. Donors choose even sponsored one of her larger requests for lab supplies and gave her and one of her students an opportunity to meet Katy Perry!
After five years in the classroom, she felt she could improve the educational experience of even more students by sharing her knowledge and expertise with other teachers in Philadelphia as a Professional Learning Specialist and Math Specialist. She has coached teachers in best practices in various STEM areas, focusing on both content knowledge as well as interpersonal skills students will need for the future. Caitlin is particularly passionate about helping to build inquisitive kids as they explore STEM topics while also cultivating their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. She is excited to be able to help our future scientists, coders, engineers, and mathematicians unlock their full potential!Back To Team Page
